This 1984 Chevrolet Corvette Greenwood Edition is an absolutely stunning, Greenwood-bodied Corvette professionally built both inside and out! Among the most distinctive and collectible variants of the fourth-generation Corvette, a Greenwood-bodied C4 represents a rare intersection of American engineering ambition and elite aftermarket coachbuilding that serious collectors have sought for decades.

The 1984 Corvette was a watershed moment for America’s sports car. Arriving after a two-year hiatus while GM completely reworked the platform, the C4 represented the most significant reinvention of the Corvette since its 1953 debut. Gone was the soft, rounded styling of the C3 – replaced by a taut, wedge-shaped silhouette with a drag coefficient of just 0.34, a clamshell hood that exposed the entire drivetrain, and a driver-focused cockpit that finally brought the Corvette’s interior into the modern era. Car and Driver called it “the best Corvette ever built.” Road & Track declared it a genuine world-class sports car. For the first time in years, the Corvette could stand confidently alongside its European rivals without apology.

Into that moment stepped John Greenwood – one of the most celebrated names in Corvette racing and customization history. Greenwood had made his reputation in the early 1970s racing heavily modified Corvettes at Le Mans and Daytona. His aftermarket ground effects packages, engineered with the same rigor he applied to his race cars, were among the most respected and visually dramatic in the industry. Applied to the already compelling C4 body, the Greenwood 12-piece kit didn’t merely add visual drama – it deepened and refined the car’s inherent character, giving it a purposeful, coachbuilt quality that the factory had only gestured toward.

Under the hood on this ’84 Greenwood Corvette is a 350 cubic inch V8 bored 0.030 over to 355 cubic inches and outfitted with:

• Speed Pro Forged Pistons
• Crane Compucam
• Upgraded Melling high-volume oil pump
• Upgraded ignition system
• Ported heads with roller rockers
• Upgraded intake and exhaust valves

These modifications are said to create 9.8:1 compression and were professionally built by Ken’s Custom Machine and Canadian Super Shop. The built 355 CID V8 breathes through a ported intake manifold and an upgraded electronic fuel injection system sporting a pair of Stage-One high-performance throttle bodies and higher capacity fuel injectors, professionally built by The Carburetor Shop in California. Together, the built 355 V8 with upgraded computer-controlled fuel injection system were said to have produced over 400 horsepower when it was installed.

Exhaust notes are extra throaty, exiting this Corvette’s supped up V8 powerplant via a pair of Hooker headers and out the tailpipes through an upgraded 2″ exhaust outfitted with SuperTurbo mufflers. The 355 V8 is mated to an upgraded 700R4 Automatic Transmission professionally built by Diamond Gears and equipped with:

• B&M shift kit
• 10-vein pump
• 31 spline input shaft

This setup allows for easy driving and increased durability.
